ice cream, swimming, and friends

We had a fun week. The weather was great so the kids and I went swimming for the first time this summer. Reese liked the water, but Eli wanted to run around the pool rather than swim in it. We also went to Cold Stone Creamery for some of their yummy cake batter ice cream. I let Eli pick one topping and he chose reeses pieces (in honor of his sister's name I'm sure).

Brad's good friend Alex and his girlfriend Emily stayed with us this week. They took a road trip from Iowa and are planning to move to the Phoenix area later this year. We had a lot of fun and look forward to them moving here! Eli loved playing with Alex and Emily and would follow them all around the house. Every time they would leave he asked when Alex and "Elmo" were going to come was so cute.

Yesterday Eli had some friends over to play...being he is already such a ladies man, they were all girls.haha They all played great together and had a lot of fun!

Goodbye stroller days, Hello Summer

Drum roll please...I have finally started this blog! I've wanted to start a blog for a long time and with some pleading from friends and family, I finally got it done! It will be a great way to share some of our family life with everyone near and far. I hope to update it every week so keep checking the site for updates!

So its been in the 100s for over a week now hence the title of this post. I used to always take the kids in the stroller to the neighborhood park after Reese's first nap, but now it is too hot to go! I'm so bummed b/c it made the morning fly by and gave me some good exercise. The picture is of Eli and Reese all set to go to the park. My mom got me that awesome sit'n stand stroller when Reese was born and I have gotten a ton of use out of it! Looks like I'll have to put it in the trunk and head to the mall. We still manage to get out of the house in the Summer for playdates and errands but I always miss our walks to the park.:)
